December's Hot Button of the Month Contest Winner is... Janell Carson from West Prairie Lutheran Church in Forest City, IA.. Janell created this "West Prairie Lutheran Church Christmas Ornament" to raise funds for the youth group to attend an event in Minneapolis in February 2014. Money raised will cover cost of admission, hotel expenses, food and gas.
"We charged $10 per ornament and they were an easy sell," said Janell. "Church members loved them. One side has the image of our church in winter and the other side has the Bible verse Luke 2:11."
"We used two 3" buttons, attached a silver vintage style bail to one button, glued the two buttons together back to back (pins removed), and added a ribbon for hanging," Janell explained. "We expect to raise $450 from sales in about three weeks. Pretty good results for a small investment and minimal labor."
As the Hot Button of the Month winner, Janell received a $100 Badge-A-Minit gift certificate.

Jan Warner Wendling from Maple Heights, OH, designed these button to celebrate her high school class's 45th anniversary. She notes that the school in the photo is no longer a high school, but is a beautiful remembrance of their high school years. Jan plans to use the buttons as a fundraiser for the celebration. The money will be used to invite some of the class's teachers to their event to show them how much they are appreciated. Jan noted that they already have orders from the buttons.
Don Asbridge from Bakersfield, CA submitted the USA button. He plans to use it to draw attention to his blog, website and button-selling business.
