Colorama Button 1

Bill Black of Elmer City, WA, designed this Colorama button as one in a series of three used during the 50th Annual Colorama Festival. A major part of the celebration is a rodeo - hence the button theme! The buttons were individually numbered and sold as a Chamber of Commerce fundraiser. The numbers corresponded with raffle tickets that were drawn for prized the last day of the festival. Bill notes that attendance at the drawing increased 40% over the year before - and they had many people who purchased all three styles of buttons in order to collect the whole set as a memento of the event!
